Google gets shiny with Chrome

Google has released its experimental browser called Chrome, a new type of browser built on the Webkit rendering engine.

  • Great post! I share a similar opinion and would also like to see the browser opened up to allow plugins. It's early days but it does have a lot of potential and with 3% of the marketshare Chrome is off to a good start!
  • I think the biggest omission so far is the lack of a Firebug-like developer plug-in. If Chrome is truly aimed at Web applications, then Google had better fix this one really quickly.

    So far I don't see any useful plugins a la Firefox. Maybe I just need to be a bit more patient.

    Thanks for the hint about the Ctrl key, I wonder what other undocumented features are out there.
  • Google chrome today is the best thing in the browsing arena. Internet explorer is gradually fading from the people's mind, (at least mine), the smoothness of google chrome is just commendable. It is clear that IE just can't stand against chrome.

  • The bottom process is the process for Flash.
  • Chrome comes with a Firebug clone built in, with the full DOM inspector capabilities. You can edit HTML & CSS on the fly, and one nice little feature is that you can right-click on any part of the page & ‘Inspect element’ is an option in the context menu.
